Welcome to Cwtch & Code

Hi, I’m Carl, the founder, heart, and mind behind Cwtch & Code. I’m an IT engineer, a devoted husband and father, and someone deeply passionate about using technology to create real, tangible digital products where security and empathy are always built in.

Inspired by real needs

The mission of Cwtch & Code is deeply personal. As a father to two extraordinary boys, one of whom courageously navigates the world with learning disabilities, my focus shifted from simply building systems to building solutions. This journey provided the direct, invaluable insight needed to develop intuitive, accessible applications that address genuine needs within the ALN and Neurodivergent community.

Why Cwtch & Code?

Our company name defines our approach to software development:

Cwtch (or Cwtsh): This Welsh gem of a word encapsulates love, safety, and warmth. For us, it represents the promise that every product we create will be a secure, comfortable digital haven – a true embrace for families facing life’s hurdles.

Code: This symbolizes our technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving focus. We see technological challenges as opportunities to innovate, ensuring that compassion is engineered into every line of code we write.

Together, this forms our promise: to fuse professional development with profound compassion to create truly inclusive digital experiences.

What we build

Cwtch & Code is a dedicated product studio. We leverage our specialized knowledge in technology and neurodiversity to develop and market our own suite of accessible apps and wholesome games.

Cwtch Corner: Our flagship Web and Android app, which demonstrates our commitment to digital safety, featuring CwtchView, our parental/carer-controlled YouTube client.

Cozy Games: Future titles focused on low-stress, engaging gameplay designed for accessibility and fun.

We are focused on being the bridge between cutting-edge innovation and heartfelt empathy, ensuring every product is a genuine game-changer.

My Expertise and Commitment

By day, I work as an IT engineer with NHS Wales, grounding my technical approach in security, reliability, and structured environments. By night, I’m a father and self-professed geek, drawing inspiration from sci-fi, gaming, and the beautiful Welsh countryside.

My belief remains simple and profound: every child, no matter the obstacles they face, has the potential to thrive. This belief is the heartbeat of Cwtch & Code, infusing purpose and accessibility into every app we develop.
